We enjoyed romantic settings, quaint country villages, stunning scenery and rolling vineyards on our river cruise through Lyon, to Chalon-Sur-Saône, Avignon and Arles. The region’s wines and gastronomic delights were tasted, and France’s impressive architecture—including castles and palaces – were there to be explored. Romanesque influences rise from cities’ ruins while castles built by French nobility told tales of the past lives of the country’s wealthy, providing us with an all-encompassing experience of France’s past and present on our 8-day Sensations of Southern France sailing.

Cruise France's "Romantic Rivers" from Beaune to Rhone

It was a spectacular cruise. Liberte was luxurious, comfortable and full of surprises. It's not often one has the opportunity to be part of a Christening Cruise and Emerald pulle out all the stops to insure we had the time of our lives. Below is a "video taste" of the cruise.

In addition to all that's included on our river cruises, we enjoyed some very special events"

The official Emerald Liberté christening celebrations in Lyon, including the naming ceremony and an exclusive cocktail reception.

We enjoyed a wine tasting event at Cave de Tain with some of the delicious and famous wines of the region.

Our Taste of Provence tour at a local olive mill for an olive tasting session and learn about their award-winning products.

We visited the Palais des Popes on an included walk through the rambling maze of gothic hallways and rooms of this medieval fortress.
